The AP All-SEC team has been released, and while the Gamecocks don't have as many players getting recognition as they have in recent seasons, they do have a couple: Pharoh Cooper and A.J. Cann. Cooper was named first-team All-SEC, tying Mizzou's Bud Sasser as the second receiver behind unanimous selection and likely Heisman finalist Amari Cooper of Alabama. Cann was selected to the second team.
Cooper has had one of the most prolific offensive seasons in recent Gamecocks' memory. He has caught for 966 yards, rushed for 198, and passed for 78. He also has eight receiving touchdowns, two rushing, and two more passing. He adds 78 yards returning punts in what was the one disappointing element of his game.
As for Cann, in a year when fellow NFL prospects Corey Robinson and Brandon Shell disappointed at times, Cann lived up to his billing. He is projected to be one of the top guards in the NFL Draft. This site has him as the fifth off the board.
