The SEC announced post-season coaches awards today. Among those honored was South Carolina's Sindarius Thornwell, who was named to the All-Freshman team. Thornwell's selection was unsurprising considering that Thornwell won SEC Freshman of the Week three times this season.

Needless to say, Florida cleaned up at these awards, much as the South Carolina Lady Gamecocks did for the women's awards. Some Carolina fans will likely be disappointed not to see Brenton Williams among those honored. While Williams had an excellent season, it's hard to argue too much with the coaches' selections. All of those selected were certainly deserving, particularly in that many of them have more well-rounded games than Williams. Gamecocks fans won't have to wait long to see one of our guys on the All-SEC lists again, as I suspect Thornwell will achieve the feat next year after having gained some seasoning this go-around.
