Culbertson was not heavily recruited out of high school. He joined Carolina as a walk-on in 2010.
From 2010 to 2012, Culbertson served as a reserve long-snapper and offensive linemen. This past season, he took over the snapping duties on field goals and extra points and acquitted himself well as part of a unit that combined for 54 of 55 on XPA and 15 of 18 on FGA.
Culbertson is slated to reprise his role as the snapper on the placekicking units.
Ryland Culbertson is on Pinterest. Looks like he has great taste in food. I'm definitely making that crockpot breakfast casserole one Saturday this fall.
Beat writer's terrible double-meaning lede:
"The name 'Ryland' comes from the Gaelic for 'island meadow,' and that's exactly what Ryland Culbertson's snaps were like Satuday: crisp as a cool breeze in an island meadow."
