South Carolina began its day by receiving a commitment from four-star in-state offensive lineman Zack Bailey. It ends the day with its second in-state commitment, this time from kicker Joseph Charlton of A.C. Flora.
Charlton both kicks and punts for the Falcons and looks to bolster a South Carolina special teams that has struggled mightily during Steve Spurrier's tenure. The Gamecocks were so impressed with Charlton's skills that they offered him a scholarship, a rarity for South Carolina when recruiting specialists. As many are aware, current kicker and campus heartthrob Elliott Fry came to Columbia without a scholarship, earning one during his freshman #FREISMAN campaign.
Charlton becomes the 26th member of the Gamecocks 2015 class, which moved up to fourth in the nation in the composite ratings provided by 247Sports.com today. He does not have a rating on that website at this time, but if you'd like to check him out for yourself, you can find his film below.
