The Gamecocks opened as 2.5-point underdogs for their match-up against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday.  While the number quickly moved to 4 in the early betting, it may continue to fluctuate as the week goes on.  Suffice to say, despite their early-season struggles, gamblers still believe the Gamecocks present a formidable challenge for Georgia.

South Carolina opened their season with a 52-28 drubbing at the hands of Texas A&M, which they followed with a closer-than-expected 33-23 victory over East Carolina, leaving them 1-1 on the season.  Meanwhile, Georgia opened its 2014 campaign with a 45-21 victory over Clemson, then took last week off to prepare for the Gamecocks.  During that week, Georgia fans spent time assuring themselves that we are certainly not a rival of theirs, which is why they spent Saturday evening with an open thread discussing our game over at our sister site, DawgSports.

The Bulldogs and Gamecocks kick off at 3:30pm on CBS.
