The Big Spur: Interim head coach Shawn Elliott wants to become the full-time coach at South Carolina. I've already stated my case for giving Elliott a chance but odds are he won't be at the helm when next season rolls around. USC is a good enough job that it won't have a problem getting a top-level coach to come to the program.
The State: QB Perry Orth hasn't had an easy path to the starting spot. Not sure about his talent but you can deny his work ethic as he went from a walk-on who worked at Publix to the starting quarterback. Trivia time; what former NFL quarterback also spent time working at a grocery store? Answer; Kurt Warner who worked at a Hy-Vee store after getting cut by the Green Bay Packers in training camp prior to the 1994 season.
Sun Journal: Even through the coaching change this season, Pharoh Cooper is keeping his mindset on winning. It's definitely not fun to have a head coach change during the middle of your junior season but it's good to see he is keeping a positive attitude.
