The Feed Pail: South Carolina women's basketball is 2-0; Lorenzo Nunez tries to cut down on mistakes

The Big SpurNunez must stay focused to achieve lofty potential. Let's remember that Nunez is a freshman, and he still has plenty of room to grow and develop while he's here at South Carolina, but Shawn Elliott was up-front about him needing to eliminate mistakes. We'll have to see how much time he gets as the Gamecocks take on an FCS opponent in The Citadel on Saturday.

GCScott Davis talks about "playing out the string". With the Gamecocks sitting at three wins with two games left, and Clemson coming in to close out the season, a bowl game appears to be out of the question. Plus, a first look at The Citadel and their triple-option offense ($$), while GCRadio takes a look at what's left to play for.

The StateScouting report on The Citadel. The Gamecocks, although a favorite, are trying to avoid a letdown against a team they should beat. Losing to an FCS team would just add insult to injury to a season that's gone a lot worse than we all thought. (I looked back at our staff predictions for this season, and only Jorge de los Gallos correctly surmised that it would be a long year. It feels a lot worse than that. It can get a lot worse if the Gamecocks can't beat the other Bulldogs.)
