South Carolina Gamecocks in the NFL: D.J. Swearinger looking for work in Week 12

Here's your weekly roundup of former Gamecocks players in the NFL. Asterisks denote a change in status from the previous week (active to injured, practice team to inactive, etc.).

Released:

*D.J. Swearinger, DB, Tampa Bay: Swearinger was released by Tampa Bay after appearing in seven games in 2015. He's reportedly been worked out by Green Bay but remains unsigned. Back in May, when Swearinger was released by Houston, a total of eight teams tried to claim him, but he doesn't appear to be generating as much buzz this time around. FWIW, his dog doesn't seem to have bitten any teammates during his time in Tampa Bay.

*UPDATE: D.J. was signed to Arizona's practice squad today.

A.J. Cann, OL, Jacksonville Jaguars: Started in a 31-25 loss to SanDiego but did not log any stats.

Jared Cook, TE, St. Louis Rams: Four catches for 58 yards in a 7-31 loss to Cincinnati.

Jadeveon Clowney, LB, Houston Texans: Two tackles in a 24-6 win over New Orleans.

Patrick DiMarco, FB, Atlanta Falcons: Played in a 10-20 loss to Minnesota but did not log any stats.

Bruce Ellington, WR, San Francisco 49ers: Three kickoff returns for 22 yards and on punt return for no yards in a 13-19 loss to Arizona.

Stephon Gilmore, CB, Buffalo Bills: Five tackles and one defended pass in a 22-30 loss to Kansas City.

Melvin Ingram, LB, San Diego Chargers: Appeared in a 31-25 win over Jacksonville but did not log any stats.

Lemuel Jeanpierre, OL, Seattle Seahawks: Appeared in a 39-30 win over Pittsburgh but did not log any stats.

*Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago Bears: Returned form injury logging seven catches for 90 yards in a 17-13 win over Green Bay.

T.J. Johnson, OL, Cincinnati Bengals: Appeared in a 31-7 win over St. Louis but did not log any stats.

Johnathan Joseph, CB, Houston Texans: Seven tackles and one pass defended in a 24-6 win over New Orleans.

Jamon Meredith, OL, Tennessee Titans: Appeared in 21-24 loss to Oakland but did not log any stats.

Captain Munnerlyn, CB, Minnesota Vikings: One interception, three tackles and one pass defended in a 20-10 win over Atlanta.

Darian Stewart, S, Denver Broncos: Four tackles and three passes defended in a 30-24 win over New England.

Ryan Succop, PK, Tennessee Titans: Did not attempt any field goals, was 1/2 on PATs, and made four kickoffs in a 21-24 loss to Oakland.

Injured

Antonio Allen, S, New York Jets: Allen tore his Achilles in August and is out for the season.

Busta Anderson, TE, San Francisco: Originally estimated to miss 6-8 weeks with an undisclosed injury, ESPN is reporting that he'll miss the entire season with an ankle injury.

Chris Culliver, CB, Washington Celebrity Deathmatch Under-Undercard: Tore his ACL in practice. Done for the year.

Mike Davis, RB, San Francisco: Reportedly suffered a broken hand in week 8. Davis has been placed on IR but has not been ruled out to return later in the season.

Clifton Geathers, DE, Pittsburgh: Will miss the entire season with an undisclosed injury.

Connor Shaw, QB, Cleveland: Will miss the entire season after suffering a right thumb injury.
