With NSD quickly approaching, two of Gamecocks recruits will announce later tonight where they will play in college.
The first to announce will be long time commit Damon Arnette. Arnette has been committed to the Gamecocks for quite a few months, and could be considered a key piece of the defensive back class this year, and was expected to add depth to a slightly thin safety unit. Arnette recently took visits to the Michigan Wolverines, the Ohio State Buckeyes and officially visited the Gamecocks a few weeks ago. As it stands right now, it appears that Arnette will be flipping to OSU, which is definitely a blow and will be the eighth or ninth decommit to leave the 2015 class. With Ohio State being the reigning champs, it is understandable what Arnette see's in their program, despite the fact that the Buckeyes have a loaded defensive back class. While losing Arnette will sting, the Gamecocks still have TJ Gurley, Chaz Elder and incoming safety Darrin Smalls.
The second recruit to announce tonight is two time commit Arden Key. Key has had one of the strangest recruitments I have ever followed. He started as a commit along with Wesley Green, and then decommitted a while later. Key then recommitted to USC and had maintained that he would take all his visits. Key then announced that he would be decommitting again from the program and scheduled visits to Miami, LSU, USC and Auburn. Key went on the first three, but following a reported visit from some LSU coaches including defensive line coach Ed Orgeron, Key cancelled his Auburn visit. Right now Key is expected to commit and sign with LSU.
Our prediction: USC loses both and Rashad Fenton commits to USC
