The Gamecocks only had one player left on their board coming into National Signing Day, and he's going to answer that question positively.
Defensive back Rashad Fenton of Miami, Florida committed to and signed with South Carolina today. He chose the Gamecocks over Louisville and Florida.
After a difficult season in the secondary for South Carolina, replenishing the talent in the backfield was one of the major priorities of this class. When Mark Fields decommitted earlier this year, Fenton jumped onto the Gamecocks' radar, and they held off both the Florida Gators and Louisville Cardinals in order to convince the talented high schooler to join the garnet and black.
With Fenton's announcement, it seems the excitement for South Carolina on National Signing Day is more or less over, except in that they will hope to retain all of the players that came into the day committed. So far, so good on that front.
