What's Cooking at GABA? Slow Cooked BBQ Chicken

Spring Practice is here! You will want to read a lot about the QB play, the defense and the overall progress of each player. Well, you wont get too much too start out, but you will get fed some juicy player performance along the way. And, you'll get some great recipes like this slow cooked kickin' BBQ chicken.

Our spring football practice is a lot like the McRib Sandwich. With a lot of hype and marketing, the McRib is McDonald’s seasonal sandwich. It’s a boneless pork patty shaped like it has bones. Then it is slathered in warm BBQ Sauce, and served on a spongy sandwich bun. Whenever the sandwich comes back (or on tour), every teen, geek, and jock will communally grub on the McRib.

Spring Football practice is here. There will be a lot of hype around the new players at first but the HBC will never give out too much information. Most of us are checking on how the QB play is going and of course, all eyes will be on the Defense too.

To get us through the spring practice, I’ve got a dish that you’ll want to chow down on and it’s a lot better than the McRib.

This is all you need:

Crock-Pot

1 lb. Boneless Chicken breast

BBQ sauce (any brand)

Hamburger Buns

First up, quickly brown the chicken on both sides for about 5 minutes total. Then toss them in the Crock-Pot. Pour over the BBQ sauce over them and turn the heat to low with the lid on. In about 4 hours you should be able easily shred the chicken with a fork. After it’s shredded, put it back in the Crock-Pot and let it simmer for about another 20 minutes to absorb some of the BBQ liquid. Lastly, serve it on a warm bun with some extra BBQ sauce on top. This is easy peasy lemon squeezy, just like the first few spring practice games. ENJOY!
