The South Carolina offense showed back up in a big way in last night's 10-4 victory over Charleston Southern. The 8-3 Gamecocks will host High Point this evening in a makeup game for last week's rained out contest with Davidson.
Today's game will be only the third meeting between the Gamecocks and the High Point University Panthers. The previous two meetings between the teams occurred in 1973 when the Gamecocks swept a two-game series, earning both victories in extra innings.
The Panthers are only 2-7 on the season. High Point's first win came in the second game of a series with UNCG on opening weekend and the second win came in game two of a series against South Florida last weekend. The Panthers enter today's game on a two-game losing streak after being shut out by South Florida on Sunday and by Appalachian State on Tuesday.
