Six weeks from Thursday, we will be getting ready for kickoff between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the North Carolina Tar Heels. But the college football season unofficially begins on Monday with SEC Media Days at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, Alabama. Predictions, media and coaches rubbing elbows with one another, PAWWWL broadcasting live from the scene, funny Steve Spurrier quotes—you name it, it will be there.
What time will Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks be up?
Spurrier's SEC Media Days comments have been an annual spectacle, and HBC will be the first one up on Tuesday at 10am ET. Appointment viewing. In fact, let's take a look at some of the highlights from last year, which included a brief history lesson:
Spurrier on Stephen Garcia in media: "When I see him I'm gonna tell him he looks like he joined the cast of Duck Dynasty." #SECMD14

Spurrier on @itISwhatITisSG5 joining the media. "He’s got a chance. Heck, you guys made it." #Gamecocks

On "historic" rivalry with A&M - I'm from Tennessee. I was always taught the hero of the Alamo was Davey Crockett. He and those 33 Tenn guys

Samples of the official Google Translate edition of his remarks (it's not official):
On his career path as a coach:
(English to Nepali to Albanian to Khmer to English)You can find his way in life can lead to not know what was happening. I am 12 years later, Florida shake me as the coach of the NFL's five or six years, and that this and other rides around the island will be retired and play with a bunch of hockey. But it was a bad tournament. When I realized that there is a very good idea. Like ... some people (South Carolina) is a blind search? I can find and give me a job at the end of 2004, they alone.
Should we even bother listening to any other coach, then?
I mean, Spurrier won't be the only one there, so you could. That's up to you, though.
Which Gamecocks will be there?
Pharoh Cooper, Skai Moore and Elliott Fry.
How To Watch
SEC Network will be covering the week live for the first time. In past years, it's been on ESPNU, but it's only fitting that SECN will be taking the reins from here on out.
Live Stream
You can watch via the WatchESPN app on your device, or, of course, online at WatchESPN.com.
Let's all welcome Greg Sankey
Sankey will be presiding over his SEC Media Days since stepping into the shoes of longtime league commish Mike Slive.
What else should we expect?
