Malone played his high school ball at nearby Camden High School, where he was an all-region selection during his senior season in 2011. In January of 2012, Malone enrolled at Coastak Carolina and participated in their spring football session. He later transferred from the Chanticleers to the Gamecocks and enrolled at USC in January of 2013.
College Career
Malone joined the Gamecocks in 2013 as a walk-on but was not eligible for that season. This past season, he mainly worked with the scout team as a reserve. He played sparingly in South Carolina's win over Furman, where he tallied a tackle.
2015 Outlook
Malone likely sits as a third-string SPUR behind Jordan Diggs and Larenz Bryant. He will likely stay in his role as a reserve, bringing another solid body to the depth the Gamecocks possess at linebacker. Malone could also make contributions via special teams but his main role this season will likely be as a reserve and a member of USC's scout team.
