The SEC Network Takeover allows each of the 14 SEC schools to air a selection of games and programming that they choose. It is meant to provide the "ultimate day of television for [each] fan-base."
The 24 hours of programming chosen for South Carolina begins at midnight Thursday July 9th with the 2004 baseball game against Vandy in which the Gamecocks won their first SEC Tournament title. The schedule for the Gamecocks includes 11 games and two original shows. Baseball, softball, men's basketball and women's soccer each have one game in the lineup. There are two women's basketball games and five football games on the schedule. Athletics Director Ray Tanner and University President Harris Pastides selected the events to be aired.
