Last week saw the Gamecocks get off to a good start as they topped the North Carolina Tar Heels in Charlotte. Can they go 2-0 as the Wildcats come to town for the SEC opener for both teams?
Revenge will be on the Gamecocks' minds. They'll need to get it with their first year starter, Connor Mitch, under center. Mitch was OK, but not great in a 17-13 win last week. Skai Moore and Shon Carson, though, were great. Moore had two end-zone interceptions - one in the fourth quarter to clinch the game - and Carson had the eventual game-winning 48-yard touchdown to give South Carolina the edge. The defense will need to come up strong against Patrick Towles and Kentucky's spread offense, as well as the Wildcat formation that threw Carolina off last year as they gave up 21 points in the fourth quarter to lose 45-38.
