Soccer
Even with a loss to Old Dominion in the Conference USA tournament quarterfinals, the Gamecocks were still able to make the field for the national tournament. They open up play tomorrow at home in the opening round against Mercer at 1pm. The winner of that game will go on to play the 3rd seeded Clemson Tigers.
After a 7-0 win over Alabama State, next up for the #1 seed South Carolina is Colorado tomorrow night at home (7pm). The Gamecocks will be looking to score their 20th win on the season, which would be a program record.
Golf
The men’s team will resume play in the All-American Intercollegiate tournament on February 17th in Humble, Texas.
Volleyball
The volleyball team suffered a sweep to 6th ranked Florida (13-25, 20-25, 15-25) on Friday night, but ended up making possibly the biggest upset this season in the SEC as they took down the 21st ranked and conference-leading Missouri Tigers 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 26-24, 25-23). With their first win over a ranked opponent in a decade, the team will host Alabama this Friday in Columbia.
Equestrian
The equestrian squad will attempt to bounce back from a 10-8 loss @ Fresno State as they travel to Auburn on Friday. This will be their last match of the 2016 calendar year.
Swimming & Diving
The women’s team swept Clemson on the road behind a collectively strong set of performances by Marissa Roth, Allyson Nied, and Julia Vincent. They return to action tomorrow as the men and women host Georgia in a series of meets that will last up until Saturday. This will be their final meet until early January.
