The Gamecocks emerged victorious from their rematch with Alabama on Saturday, beating the Tide 78-64. South Carolina improved to 19-2 (6-2 SEC) with the win and is once again ranked in the AP Top 25.
The Gamecocks are playing the first of two consecutive road games tonight when they face the 11-8 (4-4 SEC) Georgia Bulldogs in Athens. Though South Carolina beat the Bulldogs twice during the regular season last year, the Gamecocks ended last season with a loss to Georgia in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals. South Carolina's overall series against Georgia is close, with the Bulldogs leading 55-50, but Georgia has a commanding 32-16 lead in games played in Athens.
