Karamo Dioubate has been described as an NFL-type talent. Can Will Muschamp lure him to South Carolina? Time will tell.
Dioubate will announce his commitment to either the Temple Owls or South Carolina Gamecocks tonight at 6pm in his hometown of Philadelphia. Lance Thompson has been working the country's #12 strongside defensive end (Rivals) over the past few days and weeks and is hoping to lure the 6'4", 273-pound four-star recruit from the Owls. Michigan State was also in the mix, but they have faded, leaving the Owls and Gamecocks as the last two standing.
The Gamecocks have already added four same-day commits today: WRs Randrecous Davis and Korey Banks and DTs Aaron Thompson and Stephon Taylor. Dioubate would equal another key piece to a pass rush that, on paper, already looks as if it will be a massive improvement over last year's group.
Seventeen players have signed for the Gamecocks thus far today. That's on top of a January signee in top JUCO corner Jamarcus King and six early signees, bringing the total number of players to 24. It could grow to 25 tonight.
