The South Carolina women's basketball team improved to 22-0 on the year and 10-0 in conference play with a 78-68 win over Kentucky. The Wildcats dropped to 15-5 on the season, with all five losses coming in the SEC.
The #2-ranked Gamecocks were led by their dominant front court of A'ja Wilson with 18 points and 7 rebounds, and Alaina Coates who had a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds. South Carolina's next leading scorer was Khadijah Sessions, who had nine points - including a 70-foot three pointer to close out the third quarter.
For the #18 Wildcats, guards Makayla Epps had a team-high 17 points and Janee Thompson recorded 6 assists. Batouly Camara came close to a double-double with 14 points and 9 rebounds, while Alexis Jennings and Maci Morris had 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Kentucky will welcome LSU to Lexington this Sunday at noon while South Carolina will host #1 UConn next Monday night in a game that will be nationally broadcast on ESPN2.
