The South Carolina Gamecocks fell to the top seeded Florida State Seminoles 4-0 in the winner's bracket game of the Tallahassee Regional today.
Nickie Blue, who pitched a shutout in yesterday's win over USF, got the start again today. Despite holding the Seminole offense in check for most of the way, Blue did not receive any run support. The Gamecocks had their chances in the 3rd, 4th, and 5 innings respectively as they got a runner to 3rd with less than one out each time. However, Carolina was unable to break through.
The Seminoles got on the board with 2 runs in the 6th and added 2 more runs in the 7th to put the game away.
South Carolina will play the USF/FAMU winner later tonight for another shot at the Seminoles tomorrow in the regional championship round.
