Earlier this week, the Cleveland Browns released former South Carolina Gamecock QB Connor Shaw. He didn't stay unemployed long as the New Orleans Saints moved quickly to sign the former Gamecock signal caller.
Saints have put in a waivers claim for former Browns QB Connor Shaw, per source.— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) July 1, 2016
What makes this even better is Connor Shaw might actually have a chance to stick with the Saints. New Orleans is a bit unsettled at QB behind future HOFer Drew Brees as backups Luke McCown and Garrett Grayson haven't been consistent enough to lay claim to "QB of the future." Hopefully, learning from Drew Brees and playing in a competent offensive system, Connor will make some noise and find his way onto the 53 man regular season roster.
Looks like the Bears put a claim in for Connor before the Saints.
Some July 1 NFL intrigue. Saints (accidentally?) leaked they were putting waiver claim in for Connor Shaw. Bears jump in and get him first.— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) July 1, 2016
