Rivers Bedenbaugh
RS Junior
Fullback
6”2’ / 256
Lexington, SC
Recruitment
The midlands native didn’t receive much FBS attention, but was offered a scholarship from Newberry, The Citadel and Wingate.
College Career
Bedenbaugh didn’t opt in on any of his scholarship offers and instead enrolled at Georgia Southern to walk-on to the Eagles football team, where he redshirted his true freshman year.
A year later, he enrolled at South Carolina and played for Palmetto Prep Academy (then Gray Military College). The following season, he earned himself six appearances for the Gamecocks as a walk-on fullback.
2016 Outlook
It’s unsure where Bedenbaugh fits into Kurt Roper’s offensive plan, but the same could be said for any fullback on this roster as the position wasn’t left off of the spring depth chart.
That said, Bedenbaugh’s primary role with the Gamecocks offense last year was as a blocking fullback, so it’s safe to assume the same for this upcoming year.
