James didn’t receive any scholarship attention as an all-region selection out South Florence High School.
College Career
After bouncing between South Carolina and Darlington Tech, James walked-on to the Gamecocks in 2014 as a redshirt sophomore. He has two years of scout team experience under his belt.
2016 Outlook
At 5”6’ and just over 150 lbs., the redshirt senior walk-on just doesn’t have the physique to contend for playing time against the scholarship players listed through the Gamecocks secondary, even with it’s inexperience.
That said, injuries happen, and this new coaching staff could find something they like enough in James for a spot on the travel roster in his final season in Columbia.
While the program and fans certainly appreciate the dedication a scout team lifer like James exhibits, the chances of playing time for the Gamecocks are minimal in 2016.
