Antoine Wilder
RS Freshman
Defensive Back
5’10”, 185
Riverdale, GA
Recruitment
Wilder was a three-star recruit in the class of 2014 and was ranked as the #52 safety in 247’s composite rankings. After garnering FBS offers from Louisville, Mississippi State and South Carolina (where Whammy Ward was his primary recruiter), he ultimately decided to head east down I-20 to play for the Gamecocks.
College Career
Wilder redshirted his first season in Columbia, but participated in practice drills in order to prepare him for being on the active roster this season.
2016 Outlook
Wilder is currently showing as the backup to Rashad Felton at the nickel, part of a backfield that will receive a great deal of attention from Will Muschamp (who gave WIlder an earful after flubbing a drill in practice yesterday). Muschamp’s said numerous times that the team is lacking in that area, so he and T-Rob will be turning up the heat on this unit all season long to get them going at their full potential. Will Wilder respond to the challenge? We’ll await the results.
