College Career

After spending his first two seasons of eligibility with Florida Atlantic, Kelly spent a year at Tallahassee Junior College before enrolling at South Carolina.

Kelly handled all of the punting duties in 2012 and 2013 for the Owls en route to becoming one the best in the program’s history. Since then, it feels like he’s only improved after every year to become a pleasant offering to South Carolina’s special teams.

Kelly propelled the Gamecocks punting game into one the best in college football, ranking them seventh in the nation in net punting and fourth in the SEC in punting average.

While he doesn’t struggle to put up a respectable average, he also is one of the best placement kickers in the game. Over his near 200 career punts, he has placed 67 inside the 20 yard line.

2016 Outlook

Kelly will handle the entirety of the Gamecocks punting duties this season. And that’s a refreshing sentence given the notorious punting South Carolina fans witnessed for the majority of our past two coaching eras.

Look for the fifth-year senior and All-SEC candidate to solidify himself as one of the best in the nation for his craft and help the Gamecocks consistently win the field-position battle.
