A three-star recruit out of Columbia’s A.C. Flora High School, South Carolina was the only FBS school that he had his eyes on as a prospect. Charlton was ranked as the 2nd best punter in the nation for his class and the 22nd best player in South Carolina.
College Career
In 2015, Charlton redshirted as a true freshman.
2016 Outlook
With Sean Kelly still around to handle the punting duties and Elliot Fry handling field goals, Charlton has a chance to earn the kickoff duties in his first active season with Gamecocks.
While it’s not guaranteed at the moment, Head Coach Will Muschamp mentioned in his preseason press conference that he’d hope Charlton could take the reigns to spread the kicking toll around three ways.
