After suffering a tough 24-10 defeat against top-ranked Georgia in Athens last week, the South Carolina Gamecocks come back to Williams-Brice as 7.5-point favorites over a floundering Florida team.

The betting line has held steady for South Carolina, which opened in some books as much as a 9-point favorite.

The 3-5 Gators are fresh off a humiliating loss at the hands of Missouri, which whipped them 45-16 in their first game under interim head coach Randy Shannon. Quarterback Malik Zaire is set to start again, despite an underwhelming performance that prompted the Gators to also play former starter Feleipe Franks against the Tigers. In the wake of the Jim McElwain firing and a season that was spiraling downward even before that happened, it’s a bit of an understatement to say Florida is in a really tough spot right now.

The over/under is set at 45.5. Florida is 2-6 against the spread this season, while South Caorlina is 6-2-1.
