Cook, Jeffery come up big on fourth down for Gamecocks in the NFL

A look at how former South Carolina players fared in the NFL last week.

WR Alshon Jeffery, Eagles: Jeffery notched five receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown, coming through on fourth down for Philadelphia in its division-clinching victory against the Los Angeles Rams.

TE Jared Cook, Raiders: After a few quiet weeks, Cook showed some of his early-season playmaking ability against the Chiefs. He led Oakland with five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown, scoring on fourth down as the Raiders fell to Kansas City.

DE Jadeveon Clowney, Texans: After a quiet performance last week, Clowney racked up six tackles, including two tackles for loss, and four quarterback hits in Houston’s loss to San Francisco.

RB Mike Davis, Seahawks: For the second week in a row, Davis led Seattle’s ground game with 15 carries for 66 yards.

DB Johnathan Joseph, Texans: Joseph had two tackles and two passes defensed for Houston.

DE Melvin Ingram, Chargers: Ingram compiled five tackles, including one for loss, and added half a sack with two quarterback hits for Los Angeles in its win against the Redskins.

S D.J. Swearinger, Redskins: Swearinger had three tackles and one pass defensed for Washington.

WR Damiere Byrd, Panthers: In his second game back after recovering from an arm fracture, Byrd was second on the team in receiving with five catches for 37 yards.

DB Captain Munnerlyn, Panthers: Munnerlyn tallied two tackles and a pass defensed for Carolina in its win against Minnesota, his former team.

CB Stephon Gilmore, Patriots: Gilmore logged three tackles for New England in its surprising loss to Miami.

S Darian Stewart, Broncos: Stewart had a tackle and a pass defensed as Denver blanked the New York Jets.

K Ryan Succop, Titans: Succop missed his long field goal attempt but nailed a point after.

TE Jerell Adams, Giants: Oddly enough, Adams recorded a stat by making a tackle on an interception return by Dallas.

PR/KR Pharoh Cooper, Rams: Cooper had one catch for a yard, lost three yards on a punt return, and returned two kicks for 46 yards.
