Last game

The Gamecocks grabbed an adventurous 76-70 win over Massachusetts, surviving the Minutemen in an uneven effort. Promising freshman Justin Minaya paced South Carolina with 17 points, while Chris Silva added 14 in a big second half showing that helped push the Gamecocks across the finish line. Coach Frank Martin had harsh words after the game, calling the job he and the coaching staff had done “pathetic” and saying the Gamecocks had regressed.

What to watch for

The Cowboys are coming off a double-overtime 96-89 win against Drake. Forward Hayden Dalton (16.5 points per game), forward Alan Herndon (14) and guard Justin James (14) lead Wyoming offensively, which is shooting 41.7% from the floor. James was the Mountain West’s Sixth Man of the Year last season, and was named to the all-conference preseason team for 2017-18. Wyoming was picked to finish 7th (out of 11 teams) in the Mountain West.
