It’s The Final Cockdown’s Running Backs week! We go down the depth chart and take a look at who will have a shot at carrying the ball out of the backfield in 2017. If you missed the others, here’s their links below with a preview of what’s to come this week:

Rico Dowdle | AJ Turner | Ty’son Williams | Mon Denson | Caleb Kinlaw

#36 C.J. Freeman

RS Freshman / 5’ 11” / Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford HS

C.J. Freeman has had a rough start to his time in Columbia. While red-shirting during his first year, he suffered a knee injury that required surgery last December. It’s hard to see Freeman getting any play time for the Gamecocks this season with five guys ahead of him.

Freeman’s 2016 Stats: Did not play

Recruitment: A 3-star recruit out of the Tar Heel state, Freeman had offers from Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Washington State and West Virginia before signing with the Gamecocks.

Next Up: The Cockdown moves to the wide receiver position, starting things off with Bryan Edwards.
