SEC Week 4 Preview

We’re finally far enough into the season to have more conference games than non-conference matchups

NCAA Football: Louisiana State at Mississippi State Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

Game of the Week

#17 Mississippi State (3-0, 1-0 SEC) at #11 Georgia (3-0)

Saturday 9/23, 7:00 PM, ESPN

An early matchup of the Bulldogs is a much more exciting game that it was expected to be at the beginning of the season. Georgia has looked good and has the higher ranking, but Mississippi State has the more impressive resume after crushing LSU last week in their first week of SEC play.

Full Schedule

Texas A&M (2-1) vs Arkansas (1-1)

Saturday 9/23, 12:00 PM, ESPN

The Aggies have owned this matchup since they joined the SEC, but the Hogs are slight favorites in what could be a fun SEC opener for these teams.

UMass (0-4) at Tennessee (2-1, 0-1 SEC)

Saturday 9/23, 12:00 PM, SEC Network

The Vols will try to move past Saturday’s last-second loss to the Gators by taking a break from SEC play to host a struggling UMass team.

#1 Alabama (3-0) at Vanderbilt (3-0)

Saturday 9/23, 3:30 PM, CBS

Alabama is a big favorite, but Vandy is coming off a win over a ranked opponent and has looked good enough this year that they’re hoping they can surprise the Tide.

Louisiana Tech (2-1) at South Carolina (2-1, 1-1 SEC)

Saturday 9/23, 3:30 PM, SEC Network

The Gamecocks will look to bounce from last week’s disaster against Kentucky as they face a Louisiana Tech team whose only loss is to Mississippi State.

Syracuse (2-1) at #25 LSU (2-1, 0-1 SEC)

Saturday 9/23, 7:00 PM, ESPN2

Despite being blindsided by Mississippi State last week, the Tigers should be able to handle Syracuse at home on Saturday.

#15 Auburn (2-1) at Missouri (1-2, 0-1 SEC)

Saturday 9/23, 7:30 PM, ESPNU

The Missouri Tigers aren’t in a great place right now after following up a conference loss to the Gamecocks with a blowout loss at the hands of Purdue. Auburn will look to take advantage of their struggles and start SEC play strong.

#20 Florida (1-1, 1-0 SEC) at Kentucky (3-0, 1-0 SEC)

Saturday 9/23, 7:30 PM, SEC Network

The Gators are (improbably) 1-0 in the SEC and they travel to a Kentucky team that is also 1-0 in conference play in what could be another significant SEC East matchup.
