The Gamecocks picked up their first SEC road victory at Mississippi, topping the Rebels 88-62. South Carolina had to withstand multiple Ole Miss rallies, but finished the game on a 29-12 run and never let things get too close. A’ja Wilson put up her 11th double-double this season with 25 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Gamecocks.
What to watch for
South Carolina will be looking to get SEC win No. 100 for coach Dawn Staley today. Missouri is coming off a 69-65 loss against LSU, and previously posted a 62-56 win at Alabama.
Sophomore guard Amber Smith paces the Tigers with 17.5 points per game. Missouri leads the SEC in free-throw percentage, shooting 75.4 percent, and is also 15th nationally in rebounding margin (+10.3), outrebounding its opponents in 13 of 15 games this season. Along with the Gamecocks, the Tigers rank in the top 25 for both field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense. This could be a battle for South Carolina.
