SEC Week 6 Preview

Taking a look around at the rest of the SEC.

Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

Game of the Week

No. 5 LSU (5-0, 2-0 SEC) at No. 22 Florida (4-1, 2-1 SEC)

3:30 p.m. (CBS)

This once-compelling rivalry resumes, this time with a powerful LSU squad facing a Gators team that is ranked again because people really, really want them to be. Florida outlasted Mississippi State in a gross 13-6 defensive struggle, while the Tigers pummeled Ole Miss 45-17 last week. I don’t know how entertaining this game will actually be, but it’s probably the best one to at least check in on.

Full schedule

No. 1 Alabama (5-0, 2-0) at Arkansas (1-4, 0-2)

Noon (ESPN)

The Razorbacks got a kinda-sorta moral victory when they only lost 24-17 to Texas A&M last week. The Tide will quickly wash away any positive vibes.

UL Monroe (2-3) at Ole Miss (3-2)

4 p.m. (SECN)

The high-flying Rebels offense was grounded in a big way against LSU last week, but they get a chance to lick their wounds.

No. 13 Kentucky (5-0, 3-0) at Texas A&M (3-2, 1-1)

7 p.m. (ESPN)

Can the Wildcats continue their upward trajectory in the East, or will they fall flat as they have after every other victory over the Gamecocks? This game is another test.

Vanderbilt (3-2, 0-1) at No. 2 Georgia (5-0, 3-0)

7:30 p.m. (SECN)

The Commodores squeaked past FCS Tennessee State last week, while the Bulldogs dispatched the hapless Volunteers. This could get pretty ugly for Vandy.

No. 8 Auburn (4-1, 1-1) at Mississippi State (3-2, 0-2)

7:30 p.m. (ESPN2)

The top-10 Tigers take on the slumping Bulldogs, who have a hit a wall in SEC play under new head coach Joe Moorhead.
