The South Carolina Gamecocks close SEC play when they travel to meet the Florida Gators in The Swamp tomorrow. After a perilous game against Ole Miss, the Gamecocks are unfortunately in the worst shape they’ve been in all year. Former and oft-injured Akeem Auguste is here to guide you through the final injury report.
Zero Augustes - Full go!
One Augustes - Should play, but won’t start
Two Augustes - Game-time decision
Three Augustes - Questionable
Four Augustes - Unlikely
Five Augustes - Out
Jamyest Williams — Five Augustes
The sophomore safety suffered a season-ending shoulder injury against the Rebels and was slated for surgery this wek.
Javon Charleston — Five Augustes
The junior safety also suffered a season-ending injury requiring surgery, this one to his foot. Yeah, depth in the secondary is kind of a problem now.
Rico Dowdle — Two Augustes
The junior running back went down with what looked like a painful knee injury against Ole Miss, and didn’t practice earlier this week. Coach Will Muschamp considers him day-to-day, but I’m not sure how much we’ll see him against Florida.
Bryson Allen-Williams — One Auguste
The senior defensive end/linebacker is another in the day-to-day category with a bum ankle.
Aaron Sterling — One Auguste
Held up with a knee issue, the sophomore defensive end also didn’t practice earlier this week.
Ty’Son Williams — One Auguste
The junior running back had a cast on his hand when the players met with the media on Tuesday, but Muschamp didn’t seem concerned.
On the bright side, Muschamp indicated that offensive lineman Dennis Daley would return, and that his replacement, Malik Young — who came up gimpy against Ole Miss — is also fine. Whew.
