The South Carolina Gamecocks are set for yet another big game against Mississippi State with a title on the line: For the third straight year, it’s the Gamecocks and the Bulldogs for the SEC Tournament championship.

South Carolina had to get past another set of Bulldogs on its way there, however, and handled No. 19 Georgia with ease in a 71-49 victory on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.

A’ja Wilson came off the bench again to post another double-double, this time with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Doniyah Cliney (14 points) and Mikiah Herbert Harrigan (14) joined her in double figures. After the Gamecocks got off to a slow start offensively in the first quarter, they started pulling away in the second, taking a 35-21 halftime lead and out front by as much as 23 points in the fourth quarter. South Carolina shot a sizzling 56.5% from the floor, also making 15 of its 18 free throws and four of its seven 3-pointers against the third-seeded Bulldogs.

With the victory, the Gamecocks set an SEC Tournament record with 11 consecutive wins, breaking the previous mark of 10 held by Tennessee. South Carolina secured its ninth 25-win season under coach Dawn Staley.
