South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt: Week 10 Injury Report

More of the same, but some good news too.

Jeff Blake-USA TODAY Sports

The South Carolina Gamecocks are back in the friendly confines of Williams-Brice Stadium for Homecoming this week, taking on fellow SEC East juggernaut Vanderbilt. There aren’t too many surprises with the injury report, although there IS some good news. Read on as Akeem Auguste guides us through the list.

Zero Augustes - Full go!

One Augustes - Should play, but won’t start

Two Augustes - Game-time decision

Three Augustes - Questionable

Four Augustes - Unlikely

Five Augustes - Out

Rico Dowdle — Five Augustes

Poor Dowdle. Another ankle injury has derailed what was shaping up to be the best season of his career since his freshman year, and it will be at least another week before we see him on the field again.

Dylan Wonnum — Five Augustes

The younger Wonnum brother and offensive lineman has been battling an ankle injury as well, and has missed the past four games. He’s on target for a return next week, according to coach Will Muschamp.

A.J. Turner — Five Augustes

The veteran running-back-turned-cornerback is dealing with a balky hamstring, so frankly, there’s no telling when he’ll be back.

Kevin Harris — Zero Augustes

HE’S BACK. The freshman running back who inspired Heisman fever dreams after the Charleston Southern game is available after an unexpectedly fast recovery from a sports hernia. We’ll see how much he plays, but this is still great to hear in light of Dowdle’s absence.

Note: Wide receiver Randrecous Davis and defensive lineman Brad Johnson will take medical redshirts this year. The former never saw the field, and the latter only appeared in two games.
