Gamecocks lose two offensive coaches to Auburn

My response to the article on the main page with the same title became longer than I anticipated. I just kept typing, so I moved it here.

as the candidate pool for assistants is steadily shrinking while other programs complete their staffs
Yep, this is the problem now (and was a significant reason imo why Muschamp was hired). Not having Will Friend as the OL coach bothers me none, thought he was a bad hire. I'm indifferent on Bobo. But spring ball starts in March correct? There is still recruiting to do and who knows what else needed to be done as it was for a new staff. Now a new staff has to become a new staff again. Who does Beamer get at this point? There were some hints in some of his language before he hired Bobo that Bobo would be an option so now where does he turn?

I'll repeat this - we get the wrong staff in here and this program is finished.

Imma add this, which is just my speculation and skepticism but it's a bad look for Beamer. This may have nothing to do with him at all but he is a head coach learning how to be a head coach and he just had two staff members poached who have never coached a game under him. He still hasn't hired a DC (who looks like he'll also have to be the secondary coach) or an S&C coach. Where does he find all these dudes now?

2021 and probably 2022 were going to be dumpster fires as it was. The recruiting class is awful. Been news of a transfer from GA Southern and a potential flip from Memphis. Raw talent is not coming in. They have to have coaches that can mold these dudes into playing above their heads, it can be done. It is regularly at some places. Iowa State is a model of this.

Beamer has to learn many things quickly, and again I do not like this. Would feel much better had they been able to land a sitting head coach. Look at what is happening at programs close to Columbia. Clemson is not going away. That loss to Ohio State was one bad loss. Clemson did something similar to Alabama a couple years ago and you know where they are playing soon. UGA is a beast too. Mack Brown has taught them how to play football in Chapel Hill. Chadwell has won everywhere he has been. He can certainly compete with SC for recruits right now. And Tennesee may get Hugh Freeze. If that happens then UT may finally be legit again. He wins too. I know many of you did not want him but would you rather him win at UT or SC?
