Will Muschamp is the Last Man Who Still Believes his Own Press

TKK and other Georgia fans I respect seem united in their disdain for Will Muschamp, a man with all the arrogance of Steve Spurrier, but none of the Head Ball Coach's wit or humility. Or ability. Here's what the coach of the first Florida team in over thirty years to finish with a losing conference record had to say after Carolina's victory over the Gators: "We have two good teams in our league -- and that's Alabama and LSU -- and the rest of us you can throw us in a sack and shake us up." Carolina and Georgia dominated the trenches against the Gators, and both teams completely shut down Florida's anemic offense. Muschamp must be thinking of Florida and Vandy.

He has us beating the spread. I'd be happy enough with this score. Unfortunately, he also has Georgia curbstomping Auburn.

Conner Cleared to Play

Looks like Conner is going to play. This is good news, I still have four years of eligibility left and was half expecting a "Tennessee Kicker" call from the HBC this weekend.

Ryan Ripken Pledges to Gameocks

Big Spur is reporting that Cal Ripken's son, Ryan Ripken, has pledged to the Gamecocks.

Coach Horn Lands a Center

Congrats to Darrin Horn and staff for reeling in 6'9" center Tyrone Haughton of Miami, FL. When it became clear that Brice Johnson of Edisto, SC was likely going out-of-state, Horn made Haughton a top priority and he's been leaning our way for several weeks now. He holds an offer from UConn, not to mention Bama, as well as Va Tech and Marshall. He is a little thin at 195 but will obviously put on weight in college. ESPN, Scout, Rivals and have him as a 3 star. Wish he was available this year!

UGA Suspends Three RBs

Looks like CMR and McGarrity decided to delay the suspensions so Crowell could play against UF. Maybe now they'll shut up about Spurrier and Hyman's handling of the Garcia fiasco. Does anybody get the feeling that Crowell may be the next Maurice Clarett?

2005: The Last Time USC Won @ Arkansas

And ironically.... for USC to win, it may take a game with stats that look just like that. Brace yourselves for a bumpy ride on November 5th.

Spurrier: Ellington strains hamstring, questionable for Saturday

Gamecock Central is reporting that Bruce Ellington practiced in a yellow no-contact jersey on Thursday and is questionable for Saturday's game in Knoxville with a slight "hamstring pull." In other news, I will conclude my Wednesday evening by eating an entire box of Lucky Charms and crying myself to sleep.
