Garcia gone

Again? I wonder what it was this time. I didn't see him in 5 Points this weekend

Stephen Garcia Dismissed

I'll have more to say this evening after work.

An Auburn blogger derived a pecking order system that penalized South Carolina 11 points for losing to #2 Auburn at home in 2006 but only docked the Gamecocks 1 point for losing to unranked NC State in 1999. Also, the Gamecocks would have been worse off if they had beaten Clemson in 2007 and lost their bowl game than they were losing to Clemson and not going to a bowl game at all. Note: Cheap shot at Auburn's "Academic Prestige" rating on NCAA 2012 removed by author.

Kyle Offers a Bribe to USC Fans

As I note in the comments, I think he may underrecognize the extent to which we actually consider Arkansas a minor rival. A fun read, nevertheless.

DE Jhaustin Thomas commits to USC

We might have lost the ball game to Auburn on Saturday, but we won a recruiting battle with the Plainsmen over DE Jhaustin "Doobie" Thomas (6-6 240) of Decatur, Georgia. Most of the recruiting services have him as a three-star. The AJC calls him a 'dominant' player however. I tend to judge recruits by their offer sheets - and most of the big time SEC and ACC programs have offered him. He also plays hoops and may try out for the USC basketball team as a PF.
