ACC & SEC Blog Predicts USC-UGA

Doesn't pick us to win, but not a bad preview.

Leftover Hot Dog on USC at UGA

Nice piece here from our pal Flounder.

Dr. Saturday Picks the Low-Hanging Fruit

1

Not much to see here, folks. Matt Hinton over at Dr. Saturday writes an article that pretty much anyone with their GED in football could have written. I figure his thought process behind this one went something like this: "Man, I need to think of an idea for my next blog entry. What about that Steve Spurrier guy? I haven't heard much from him in awhile. Let's see... not winning as much as he was at Florida? Failure. ...And he's going on his fith year? Woooah mama. Jackpot! This puppy is going to write itself!" I mean really. There's little thought put into this article with pretty much zero substance added to the discussion around South Carolina football. I can't even get that mad about this marlarky. *Yawn*

Lady Gamecocks Shut Out Mexico

+

I know nobody seems to care about soccer in this country, and with the exception of Brandy Chastain, people probably care about women's soccer even less. All the same, I thought I would make an effort to publicize this tidbit. USC's Lady Gamecocks shut out the Mexican Women's National team on Friday. This is a pretty significant event. I don't keep up with women's soccer too terribly much, but I think Mexico ranks among the higher powers of the USA, Canada, and China in the women's soccer world. A much deserved congratulations to the Coach Shelley Smith and her players!

Follow Me on Twitter

I'm going to be going home to spend time with family for the next week or so. I'll probably be around here from time to time to do a little blogging, but it won't be everyday. In the meantime, why don't you follow me on Twitter if you haven't already done so?

Coaches Poll

We have 18 votes. I'll take that.

Givens to Rutgers

Oh well. The idea was nice while it lasted.

Looking Good with Givens

+

Phil Kornblut reports that Givens wants to be a Gamecock, that an admissions decisions will be made tomorrow, and that even if Givens is denied, Givens will likely receive a presidential exemption and get in anyways. Hopefully we'll have something positive to report tomorrow.

Givens Update Part Trois

1

USC admissions will make a decision on Givens today, per Phil Kornblut. If Givens is accepted, he will choose between us and UNC.

Givens Update Part Deux

+

Joe Pa's attempts to get Givens in came to no avail. I'm liking our chances.
