The Gamecocks host the Buccaneers at Founders Park this weekend

TheBigSpur

The Gamecocks rebounded from last weekend's loss to Clemson with a pair of midweek wins at home against Wofford and Furman. The Gamecocks will be hosting another South Carolina team this weekend as Charleston Southern comes to town for the final non-conference series of the season. Carolina has a commanding 70-12 lead in the all-time series against the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers are 8-5 on the season and enter the weekend on a five game win streak after a series win over Massachusetts and midweek victories over NC Central and SC Upstate. Charleston Southern's only experience on the road so far this season is a midweek two-game series with Georgia and the Bucs lost both games.

Webb has a 2.51 ERA with 17 strikeouts and 11 walks. The Gamecocks will have a new Sunday starter this weekend as freshman Adam Hill gets a shot in the weekend rotation. He leads the team in strikeouts with 24 and has walked just 2 batters.

The Buccaneers will start senior right-hander Evan Raynor on Friday. Like Schmidt, Raynor has a 0.43 ERA through 21 innings of work, though Raynor has 19 strikeouts and 7 walks. The only lefty starting this weekend will be Daniel Johnson, who takes the mound for CSU on Saturday. The sophomore pitcher has a 4.34 ERA with 14 strikeouts and 6 walks.
