After a a great Friday night win against Clemson, the played two extremely unimpressive games and dropped the series to the Tigers. Aside from how little fun it is to lose the rivalry series, it was disheartening to see the team stumble against their first tough opponent and drop to 10-2 on the year. The Gamecocks will look to get back on track as they host several other instate opponents this week.
Theare 10-3 this season and are coming off of series win against Ohio University. Wofford opened the season with a win against Kentucky and the Terriers suffered their first loss of the season last week against Clemson. The Gamecocks lead the overall series against Wofford 75-25-1 and last lost to the Terriers in 2012.
The Gamecocks will start freshman RHP Adam Hill against the Terriers. Hill has started two midweek games this season and has yet to allow an earned run through his eleven innings of work. He has struck out nineteen batters while walking only two.
Freshman lefty Austin Higginbotham will take the mound for Wofford. He has a 1.69 ERA in his 5.1 innings pitched this season.
