#6 South Carolina Gamecocks vs #23 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers: Preview and How to Watch

The Gamecocks host the Chanticleers at Founders Park

TheBigSpur

The Gamecocks are 24-5 (7-2 SEC) after going 1-3 last week with a midweek loss to College of Charleston and a series loss to Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks did win the second game of the series against the Commodores thanks to a fantastic performance from Braden Webb, who earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors for the second week in a row. Though it was a rough week and the Gamecocks did slip a few spots in most national polls, losing to a top five team on the road is nothing to panic about.

The Gamecocks have an opportunity to bounce back with a nice midweek win as they return home to host a ranked Coastal Carolina team. The Chanticleers are 20-9 (5-1 Big South) and are currently on a seven game winning streak. This will be the 20th time that the two teams have faced each other and the Gamecocks are 13-6 against the Chanticleers. The most recent game in the series was last season, when Coastal Carolina won an extra inning game in Conway for their first victory over the Gamecocks in a decade.
