South Carolina managed to salvage a game on Sunday, but lost last weekend's series to Texas A&M. The Gamecocks are now 38-13 (17-9 SEC) and are 7th in the NCAA RPI. They are still in the top ten in most polls and will host the Citadel tonight before going on the road for their last SEC series of the season.
The Gamecocks and the Bulldogs already faced each other in Charleston this season and Carolina came out of the meeting with a 6-3 win. That victory pushed Carolina's lead in the overall series to 129-48-1. The season has not gone well for The Citadel since that first game, and the Bulldogs enter tonight's game with a record of 16-36 (6-15 SoCon). The Bulldogs have lost 10 of their last 11 games and are currently on a four-game losing streak.
