It's day two of the 2016 NCAA baseball championship's regional round, and the Columbia Regional may be on the verge of seeing its host team get ousted in just two games. UNC Wilmington and Rhode Island (!) are looking to advance to tomorrow night's championship round with a victory in the winner's bracket contest tonight. Meanwhile, South Carolina survived their first elimination game with a 4-2 win over Duke.
Day 1 Quick Recap: The Seahawks clobbered the Blue Devils 11-1 in the opening game of the regional, while Rhode Island started the weekend with a win of their own as they stunned the Gamecocks 5-4 - their first regional round victory in just their second appearance. The Gamecocks, however, were able to avoid a two-and-out showing in their own regional with their victory this afternoon.
