It’s a midweek border rivalry game!

TheBigSpur

After losing their series against Vanderbilt last weekend the Gamecocks are 21-10 (7-5 SEC). The Gamecocks have their biggest midweek game of the year tonight as they face UNC in Charlotte. This is the second year in a row that the two teams have played in Charlotte, with UNC winning last year’s matchup in a 15-0 blowout.

The Heels are 26-6 (12-3 ACC) and are coming off of a weekend series sweep in which they outscored Boston College 48-14. UNC opened the season with a sweep of the Kentucky team currently leading the SEC East and their only series loss was in early March against Long Beach State. The Heels have won all five of their ACC series so far this season, with home series wins over Virginia and Miami and road series wins at Georgia Tech, Florida State, and Boston College.
