South Carolina is 19-8 (6-3 SEC) after a disappointing loss to Auburn on the road over the weekend. The Gamecocks host the Paladins tonight as they try to bounce back this week. Carolina and Furman were supposed to play the first game of this home-and-home series a few weeks ago in Greenville, but the game was postponed due to inclement weather and has not been rescheduled yet.
Furman is 11-15 (1-5 SoCon) and was swept at home by Mercer last weekend. The Paladins began the season 6-2, but have gone 5-13 over the last month. The Paladins have several players that are doing very well at the plate, most notably Brandon Elmy (.365/.441/.567), who is the RBI and homerun leader on the team.
