UPDATE: Due to rainy weather in Charlotte, the game has been cancelled. The Gamecocks and Mountaineers may be able to make up the game later this season, but if so it will not be played in Charlotte.
The Gamecocks lost the rivalry series to Clemson over the weekend and fell to 7-5 on the season. They are back in action on the road this evening as they travel to Charlotte to face Appalachian State. The Gamecocks have only lost once in their 15 previous meetings with the Mountaineers. Appalachian State is 4-6 and coming off of a series loss to Marshall.
