The time has come for Oak Hill Academy shooting guard Devontae Shuler.
Tonight at 7pm, the 6’3”, 185-pound Columbia native makes his college decision. Will he return to his home state and play for Frank Martin at South Carolina, head to Oxford and step under the tutelage of Andy Kennedy at Ole Miss, or move to the Big 12 to play for Oklahoma State and first-year head man (and former Martin assistant) Brad Underwood?
Shuler wrapped up the last of his official visits yesterday down at Ole Miss. With OVs to South Carolina and Oklahoma State completed back in September, he now has what he needs to make his final decision. With Ibrahim Doumbia and Jason Cudd having committed already, and with a top transfer in Kory Holden being eligible in the 2017-18 season, grabbing Shuler would help soften the blow of losing Justin McKie, Duane Notice and Sindarius Thornwell at the end of spring.
Shuler is rated as the #24 player at his position nationally. In 27 games last year for Oak Hill, he scored 10.1 points a game while playing alongside Top 10 recruit Billy Preston and Lindell Wigginton, ranked inside the Top 50 in his class.
